予定通り購入。
名古屋パルコのタワーレコードには2冊の在庫が有り、うち1冊を購入しました。
サイズが大きいとは聞いてましたが書籍の棚にたってもすぐには見つけられなかった。大きいので逆に見つけ難いという.....。
内容的には写真関係の配置の故に少し見辛い。前半のDEEP SOUL 45ではアーチストごとに分かれており無理にディスコグラフィっぽくなっていないのは割り切っていて好印象。
後半のCD Selectionは多くのコンピが紹介されておりなかなか為になりそう。
ついでにCDやレコードを数枚購入例によって高いものには目もくれず。
徐々に紹介して行く予定です。
ディスコグラフィ＆リンク集のGolden Age Of Soul Musicが1500件突破しました。
今やこちらのブログより力が入っておりますが...単にやりだして止まらないとも(^^;

先日ヤマダ電気へ行って見つけたのがこれ。
以前のエントリーで「フラッシュ・ディスク・ランチ CDソフトケース」について書いてましたがそれとほとんど同じじゃないかな〜
とりあえず20枚のものを買ってきましたが曲名がすんなり分かるのはありがたいですね〜。
1994年のCD。
いや〜、まいった「Brenda Lee Eager」のつもりだったが「Brenda Lee」だった。(^^;
どうやらカントリーらしい。でも以外とソウルフルで思ったより聞けるから....
「虹色の林檎はどんな味？」さんのところにCD関連の記事が有りました。

うちの部屋の中は使ってないMacを始めとして足の踏み場も無い状態に近いのでは有りますが（通路は確保してるところが自慢、笑）
CDに関しては会社に適当な段ボールが転がってる事からさほど苦労してないのであります。
それでも車は別でカセットのケースは場所を取ることからパソコンショップで買ってきたソフトケースを使っています。ただナビにCDを入れると曲名が判らない欠点が有り（ナビに問題有り）困ってましたが、このケースだとCDジャケットも入れられる模様。
リンク先からタワーレコードに有るらしいので今度行った時にでも探してみましょうか。
紛失していたMDをめでたく発見しました。
という事でA Tint Of Darknessの3曲。
「A Vowed To Love You」
出だしの低音のピアノが印象的なナンバー。とにかく独特の雰囲気を持っています。
「I'm Leaving」
結構巧くなっている印象。ベースシンガーやファルセットが良い味を出しています。サビがもう少し良かったらな〜。
「Don't Ever Take Your Love Away」
流石にこの辺りになると歌もうまいしアレンジも良くなってる。元々曲はリードのL.C. Conwayが書いて事が多いのですがここではアレンジもしています。
とりあえず纏めてみましたが元記事を変更しておこうか思案中。
せっかくU.S.BDG収録アルバムのリストが完成したのでU.S.BDG収録アーチストはすべてディスコグラフィを作ろうかと画策中（笑）
そんなんで現在ラップ系のディスコグラフィを増やしてます。少なくとも掲載されたCD/LPは一通り聞いておきたいし....

いつも不思議に思うのが著作権。
「Computer U Relax」さんのところの「プリンスのファンサイト攻撃にファンが反撃」の記事に曰く
「プリンスは複数の弁護士を立て、自分のファンサイトに対し、著作権侵害を理由に、写真、似顔絵、歌詞、アルバムジャケットなどの使用を一切やめるよう通告した。」
確かに著作権をそのまま守るならそういった事もあり得るのだろうが
CDの購入者は何を参考にして購入するのだろうか？
新譜だったら各メディアで知る事も出来るだろうが、古いものだったらiTunesとか云った系統のものしか考えられない。（ファンサイトの他に）
CDショップなんかに行っても何を頼りに選ぶのだろうか。
私の場合ソウル系だったら「Golden Age Of Soul Music」でアーチストを検索してリンク先の評判を見てみてから決めるのだが（ひょっとして自画自賛？）
この場合ジャケット写真を覚えておくのだが（そんなことするなと云ってるんだよな）
そんな訳でこの記事を見てプリンスを買う気はすっかり失せた。（買わない事を勧める）
「Golden Age Of Soul Music」から丸ごと削除しようかとも思ったがとりあえず画像のみ削除した。
大人だから（笑）
いよいよ残り2曲。今まではロックやポップス寄りだったので
まずはカントリー。
♪The Most Beautiful Girl/Chalie Rich
70年代（多分）にヒットを連発しててそこそこポップで聞き易い。他には『Behind Closed Doors』も有ってどちらにしようか迷った。次のチャンスには購入でしょう。
ガリガリにカントリーっぽいのをやられると辛いからこの辺りでいっぱいいっぱい。
♪Heart of Gold/Neil Young
Neil Youngはharurin@Woodenshipsさんがご執心のアーチスト。
若い方にはどうかはわかりませんが、70年代前半（？）辺りではチェックしておかなければならないアーチストの一人ですね。
ソウルミュージックではモータウンがウエストコーストに移り、インビクタス・ホットワックスが誕生。一時期ニューソウルなんて言い方もされましたがシカゴからはシャイライツ、カーチスメィフィールド。マイアミサウンドや極めつけはフィリーサウンドときわめて華やかな時代でした。
白人系ではハードロックが全盛（特に日本）な印象。フォーク系はいわゆるシンガー＆ソングライターに移行しつつ有る感じ。要はグループものからソロへの移行時期かもしれません。フォークソングが力を失い一部はソロシンガーとして生き残る感じかな。
これが意外と少なくヒットを放ったのはポール・サイモンやこのニール・ヤング等でした。（アルバムは売れてたと思う、ただしヒット曲は少ない）
60年代にフォークソング自体が政治的な内容を持つ事により時代の一部として受け入れられたのだが学生運動の沈静化に伴い力を失ったのは当然の結果かもしれない。
学生運動はある意味、理想を求めた活動かとも思う。つまりフォークソングは理想主義者に支えられたのだろう。
70年代になっても影響は続いてたのだと思う。私らの年代ではそういった影響を受けている方を多く見かける。乱暴な言い方をすれが邦楽を聞いてた方は普通なオヤジだがフォークソングの影響を受けた方は今でも理想を追いかけている気がする。
これこそ「Heart of Gold」かなと......

バンジョーを使った曲。カントリーっぽい感じとはちょっと違った雰囲気でこの曲も結構好きだった。

エンデバーズのソウルバージョンが大のお気に入りなのだが1970年に大ヒットしたのはこちら。もちろんアメリカでの話。

1973年のヒット曲。ストリングスとホーン、いわゆるビッグバンドって奴でしょうかね。とにかく50〜60年代に良き雰囲気が出まくりでこういったのは白黒関係なく好きです。

絶品バラードです。ソウルファンにはO'Jaysでおなじみの曲。リードの力はそれほどでもないけど曲には合ってます。当時はコーラスに注目してました。

ロックで許せるのはこれくらいまで。これは妙な味が有る。

いわゆるスワンプロックとか云う範疇かな。ヒットしてた当時ソウルっぽい黒さを感じました。それは多分ブルースに由来するものでしょうね。初めて聞いたのは湯川レイ子氏の「アメリカントップ40」で時たま歌詞を紹介してましたが、一番印象に残ってるのがこの曲。

春先にブラザーから貰ったCDをレビューする予定で
Wiki用に資料を集めてみた。
そのCDは「Motorcity Records Special Japanese Issue」と云うふれこみで
今回調べたのが「Frankie Gaye」。
その際見つけたブログが「DEAR MARVIN GAYE」
少年時代から亡くなった後の出来事まで書いてあって、（多分）
知らなかった亡くなった時の状況まで事細かに書かれている。
運悪く最後の辺りを読んじゃったせいか
とてもじゃないが最初から読めない。
MARVIN GAYEのファンだったら一応覚えておいた方が良いかも。
ちょうど、お盆ということですから、あらためてご冥福をお祈りします。
今回は1975年のSOUL ON誌からの特集を紹介する。
内容的には以下の5項目

日本でも有名なEW&Fやクール＆ギャング、コモドアーズなどに否定的な内容が多いですね。おもしろいのは分類法。オールディーズの専門誌から紹介ですがここでもざっと紹介しておきます。

あら、全部で9グループですね、こうみても「デルズ」、「ドラマティックス」は別格ですか。
まだまだ先の話だがボクチンの誕生日プレゼントは「iPod shuffle」にしようと奥様と話がついていたのですが......
ボクチンが雑誌の懸賞で当てちゃいました。
残念ながら「iPod」では有りませんがMP3プレイヤーでは有ります。
どうやら中国あたりの製品ですが、簡単なレビューを。
Mac（G３）と繋いでみましたが、当然「iTunes」は起動しないようで予想通り。USBストレージとしてはディスクトップに現れるのでMP3に変換したファイルをドラッグ＆ドロップするとちゃんとMP3プレイヤーとして使えるようです。
本人は使えりゃ良いようで納得しているようです。
ちなみにメーカーは「SIREN」だと。
前回に引き続き「インディこそ原石の宝庫」アルバム編。
とは云っても僅かに4枚の紹介のみ。うち3枚が手持ちかな。
♪David Sea/An Ocesn Apart
中では「I Really Wanna See You Tonight」
「制作時期の記載はありません。
そのうえ丸の中にDJの文字で、いわゆるDJコピーって奴ですか？ そんなんでいかにも安っぽいジャケットと言うか12インチ盤並みです。計8曲。
お薦めの「I Really Wanna See You Tonight」は少し早めのテンポ。結構力の入った歌いっぷりです。似た感じの歌が有った気がしますが女性とのやりとりも有ったりしてある意味好みかも。」
♪L.A.Superstars/Sayin' It
中では「I Just Can’t Say It」
「ビールで有名なバドワイザーのコンテストで優勝（？）してレコードをプレスしたという実力派のグループ。
なってったて、この一曲が最高です。
ドアが閉まる音から男女の会話で始まります。
ミディアムテンポで気持ちよい謡声が良いですね。
コーラスはあまり特徴が無いのですがこういった曲の場合はOKです。
終わりの方に語りが入ります。
途中のギターの音色も好み。
全体の評価は大変高い評価です。」

サブタイトルの「U.S.BDG補完プロジェクトその2」は急に思いついたわけで、「その1」は「名門グループからの独立組」ってことでよろしく。

♪Great Lake Orchestra/This Is The Night For Loving
もともと「Featuring Lou Ragland」って書いてある。クリーブランド出身とも書いてありますが、日本でも一時マニアに話題になってたことがありますね。内容は忘れましたが。軽快でポップなナンバーに仕上がっています。
♪Garfield Fleming/Don't Send Me Away
1981年の12インチ。
「Don't Send Me Away」数有る12インチの中でもベストの1枚ですね。ミディアムテンポのリズムに載せたGarfield Flemingのボーカルが素晴らしい。曲を書いている名前の中にD.Morris Jr.と有りますがあの人かな〜。
♪Bridge/Baby Don't Hold Your Love Back
iTunesに取り込み済みですが記事にはなってないかも、テープだったかもしれない。「泣く子もだまる80年代ソウルダンスの傑作。ソウルフルなボーカル、曲の良さ、どれをとっても文句無しの12インチ」とU.S.BDG。
♪Reginald/Stop To Think It Over
レコード番号かもしれませんが1983-3なんて記載が有ります。
アーチストは「Reginald」曲のライターにReggue Garnerなんて記載もありますからひょっとしたら.....。
「Grooving」ほぼ有名な曲と云う事で間違いないとは思いますがアレンジが少し違い結構楽しめますね。
「Stop To Think It Over」はスローテンポのドラマチッックな雰囲気。結構上手い作りですね。ほぼ5分と云う長丁場に飽きさせないところ等なかなか良いですね。
両面ともにライター（3人）が同じってところが少し疑問に残ります。
